China – China publishes 38 punishments for IP fraud, theft

China’s National Development and Reform Commission published a list of 38 punishments, to be implemented by multiple government institutions including China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), for IP fraud and theft.

Punishments from the State Intellectual Property Office include patent denials and inability to access expedited review of patent applications. Without elaborating, the document states that NMPA and several other agencies will heighten daily supervision and increase the frequency and extent of spot checks.
